The Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Karnataka Rules 1974

This Act is to regulate the employment of contract labour in certain establishments, provide for abolition of contract labour in certain circumstances, and for other connected matters. Central and State Rules are made to ensure effective administration and monitoring of the Act.

Compliances


In exercise of the power conferred by Section 35 of Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 (Central Act 37 of 1970), the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following Rules and these rules may be called the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Kamataka Rules, 1974.

Note that most of the Forms require signature by either contractor, employer, employee, or all.

Applicability

  • It extends to the whole of India and applies to every establishment or every contractor who employs or employed 20 or more workers on any day of the preceeding 12 months as contract labour registration is compulsory to employ contract labour.
  • The Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Karnataka Rules, 1974  applies to whole State of Karnataka and for all the units in Karnataka other than Central Government.
